S2F (Start to Finish) [How to copy or backup your Mac OSX DVD]

Disclamier : This tutorial is intended to user who want to take backup of their precious operating systems DVD. By No means, I am supporting piracy. Remember the guys out there,  are working very hard to produce these software
please buy these software say NO to Piracy.



Step 1: The very first and essential step, You need Mac OSX DVD to copy. Buy them of you dont have one

Step 2: To make a back up copy. You need a Mac OSX running. So either get one or borrow from your friend.(Some what similar to chicken-egg story :p )

Step 3: Insert the DVD in Mac. go to spotlight nad type "disk utility" and start that application

Step 4 : Select the Mac OSX DVD and click on the new Image.

Step 5 : In the pop up fill the name and location where you wanna save your DMG image. Then click save.

Step 6 : Here just wait and watch, while  image is being created. It will take a little while, go grab a coffee.

Step 7 : Now you can come back to Windows, Google dmg2iso or go here http://vu1tur.eu.org/tools/ or download from here. This is small dos based utility which will convert .dmg to .img (generic CD/DVD Format)

Usage: dmg2img -s -v
example: dmg2iso -s -v c:\mac-install-dvd.dmg  c:\macOSX.iso

Step 8: This img format is readable in many commercial apps like ultraISO, powerISO
